The Otago University ITF Taekwon-Do Club caters primarily to Otago University and Polytech students, though we welcome non-students as well. The club has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Students are encouraged to do their best, improve fitness, and have fun through Taekwon-Do.
The club regularly attends tournaments, camps, seminars, and social events throughout the year and is affiliated to the International Taekwon-Do Foundation of New Zealand (ITFNZ).
The club practices the original Korean ITF Taekwon-Do style. Taekwon-Do is an unarmed martial art that incorporates the scientific use of body in self-defense. "Tae" means jumping and flying or to kick or attack with the foot, "Kwon" is to punch or destroy with the fist, and "Do" means art or way.

We train at the Activities Hall in the Clubs and Societies building at 84 Albany Street on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and Fridays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Instruction is lead by Ana Rakonjac, I Dan.
Sign up on Clubs Day on Thursday the 24th of February or just show up at one of our regular training times. The first four classes are free! Beginners are always welcome.
